Kirk’s
Lessons
(experimental)
This is
just a test page to see if it works – and if so – how well.
Since I’ve
been having PowerPoint slides with my lessons, I’ve learned that the words and
pictures often need to go together. So,
here I’m going to put a couple of lessons for people to try out and see if you
can run your own show, so to speak, and if it’s worth it.
The slides
that come with each lesson will be in html format, so they won’t have the
automated bits I have with the regular powerpoint
slides. That means, for instance, that
when I have certain elements of the slide come into view one at a time during
church, here the whole slide will be up all the time.
On this
first lesson below, preached on 12/09/2007, the second slide had elements that
appeared and slid across the screen, and it was part of a joke that made it
look like someone was controlling the slides and saying I was not telling the
truth. In this HTML version, it doesn’t
quite work as a joke.
Anyway, I’d
be interested to know if there’s interest in seeing these lessons this way or
not, and if it works well enough to be worth it. By “worth it” I mean the extra time it takes
to configure the website to add the VISUALS, instead of just putting the .mp3
file online and letting you only hear it.

How to use
this:
If you listen online:
Right click on “slides,” and select “open in new window”
Then click on “streaming”
Now you have two windows open … one has the slides, and one
is playing the audio.
Just click through the slides while you listen.
To Save Audio to MP3 player (like iPod) or your computer:
Just right click on “Download,” and then click “Save Target
As” … and it’ll ask you where on your computer to save it.
Now if you want to listen and see the slides, just play the
mp3 player while clicking through the slides.
